St. John Vianney, pray for us and pray for the seminarians of our diocese!
Over the course of the novena (July 27 to August 4) we welcomed two guest celebrants to our church to speak about the importance of vocations. Fr. James Kuroly, rector of Cathedral Prep High School and Seminary in Elmhurst, celebrated the 11:15AM Sunday Mass on August 1st and gave the homily about priestly formation. Then on August 4th, feast day of the patron of parish priests, newly ordained Fr. Chin Nguyen celebrated the 12:05PM Mass and led us in the closing prayers of the novena. Fr. Nguyen was ordained by Bishop DiMarzio on June 5, 2021, and is now assigned to St. Luke’s in Whitestone. After Mass he gave First Blessings to those in attendance and met with parishioners who prayed for his priestly formation from when he was in the seminary.
