Almsgiving

Mass Requests

It is a time-honored Catholic tradition to have Masses offered for a particular person, living or deceased, and to provide Mass cards to comfort relatives, friends and loved ones. Mass requests may be announced or unannounced. Sunday Masses are not included.

Memorials

You may also arrange to have a memorial of the Wine and HostsSanctuary Lamp or Altar Flowers on a given week to honor your deceased loved ones, or as a living memorial. An acknowledgment of your memorial will appear in our print bulletin. Please keep in mind that notices for the print bulletin must be received at least two weeks in advance of the Sunday publication date.

Another way of remembering a deceased loved one or offering a living memorial is available by memorializing candles at the Sacred Heart of Jesus altar. These 24-hour electronic candles remain lit for a year. Each memorial is $250.

To arrange a memorial of any kind or to make a Mass request, as well as an offering, come in person to the rectory during business hours.

Votive Candles

The use of votive candles is a pious daily practice, which we continue today at OLQM. Lighting a candle is a way of extending our prayer as we seek some favor from the Lord or the intercession of the saint before which the votive is placed. Electronic votive candles are located in the church in front of the statues of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, Jesus on the Crucifix, the Blessed Mother, Saint Joseph,  Saint Jude, Saint Anthony, and in the Saints Chapel before the statues of Saint Padre Pio and Saint Lorenzo Ruiz.

Collection Box for the Poor

You can  support and assist the work of our parish in reaching out to those in need by placing a monetary donation in one of the Charity Outreach collection boxes located near the back and right front exit doors of the church.
