Lunar New Year Celebration

The practice of our Catholic faith was flavored with Asian culture on January 26. The 1 p.m. Sunday Mass was celebrated with Father Peter Bai and an assisting deacon from St. Michael’s Church, Flushing. Afterward, we had our first-ever gathering to ring in Lunar New Year, with festive cultural attire, plenty of food, and musical and dance performances. Thank you to our parishioner-organizers, the Forest Hills Asian Association (FHAA), the Chinese Culture Club at Self Help Austin St. Senior Center, and all the volunteers and in-kind donors and sponsors, including East Ocean Palace, Ren Wen Noodle Factory, Portofino Restaurant, @Bruce Cost Ginger Ale/Brooklyn Food & Beverage, Royal Business Bank, Ridgewood Savings Bank Forest Hills, TD Bank Forest Hills, Thai Asian cuisine Noodlefan SI, and Chinese Couplets calligraphy by Simon Ho.
