Guest Performance by Student Choir from England

March 25, 2017

Our Lady Queen of Martyrs welcomed the young choir of the Prior Park Preparatory School, an independent Catholic day school in Cricklade, Wiltshire, southwest of England, who visited our church as part of their brief tour of New York. They attended the 5 p.m. Mass and  performed a few of their songs before the Mass began and one piece afterward. Their music director, Mrs. Debbie Matthews, played the piano for them. About the Music Program at Prior Park Prep

Music is an integral part of school life at Prior Park Prep, for the social development and emotional health of children. All pupils are invited to join the Junior Choir (Years 3 – 5) or Senior Choir (Years 6 – 8). Junior and senior school orchestras rehearse weekly, alongside guitar and drum groups, and all ensemble music making is encouraged to support the diverse instrumental playing throughout the school. Prior Park Prep is known for its lunchtime concerts and currently offers tuition on piano, voice, violin, cello, flute, clarinet, saxophone, electric and acoustic guitar, drums, trumpet and cornet.  Read more here.
