At the 11:15AM Sunday Mass on January 8, 2023, there was a procession of the Magi (also called the Three Wise Men or the Three Kings): Caspar (India), Melchior (Persia), and Balthasar (Arabia), who as told in Matthew 2:1–12, brought gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh to the infant Jesus. The House Blessing for the new year was also written in chalk above the front door to the church: 20 + C + M + B + 23, which means Christus mansionem benedicat (Latin for “May Christ bless the house”) in 2023! (CMB also happens to abbreviate the first names of the Magi.)
