Car-Free Austin Street?

Queens Community Board 6 has voted on a resolution requesting that the Department of Transportation (DOT) study a “possible redesign of Austin Street as a first step for higher pedestrian safety and lower car congestion” (Forest Hills Patch has been reporting on the issue). Depending on what the study recommends, Austin Street could become less accessible to people coming to our academy or our Church. The study may recommend banning cars on Austin Street and eliminating parking.

If you would like to express your opinion on this issue to DOT and Queens Borough Commissioner Nicole Garcia, you can use the online form to Contact the Department of Transportation.
