The much-anticipated sidewalk repair on Queens Boulevard is underway! We appreciate your patience and understanding during this temporary inconvenience. We will keep you updated on this webpage and through announcements in the bulletin, our Facebook page, and our weekly eblast.
Last update as of June 28: The ramp entrance has reopened.
As of June 18-21: the ramp entrance to the church and the rectory entrance on Queens Boulevard are inaccessible, necessitating a temporary redirection of pedestrian traffic. This temporary closure is expected to last through Sunday, June 23. Use the church’s main entrance on Ascan Avenue this weekend. If the ramp entrance is closed for Sunday Masses, ushers will be on hand at the main entrance to assist anyone who may need help.
As of June 11: new sidewalk was laid near the church ramp entrance and in front of the rectory steps; work this week is focused on the curbside of the sidewalk, with minimal disruption to pedestrian traffic on Queens Boulevard.
As of June 3, 2024: work began.
We are grateful for your generous contributions to the 2023 Annual Catholic Appeal, because the overage funds of $75,000 that were returned to our parish are helping to make this important repair work possible. The total cost of the sidewalk repair is $151,000; we hope that we can again exceed expectations in the 2024 Annual Catholic Appeal and raise excess funds to cover the remaining cost of this major repair project.
