Parish Feast Day
September 15, 2022 (Our Lady of Sorrows)
To be observed at the Daily Masses at 8AM and 12:05PM and at Sunday Masses on September 18

In the month of September, three Marian feasts are observed: the feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary (September 8), the Most Holy Name of the Blessed Virgin Mary (September 12), and Our Lady of Sorrows (September 15), which is the memorial on which we observe our Parish Feast Day.

Our Lady of Sorrows is depicted with seven swords piercing her heart, a reference to either the prophecy of Simeon or the Seven Sorrows. Her title as Queen of Martyrs, which unites her to our church, is fittingly associated with the Sorrowful Mother who grieved at the foot of the Cross for her Divine Son and testifies to the passion and death of Jesus.
