May Crowning

The May Crowning is a long-standing and joyous tradition when the young members of the parish gather to honor Mary, the Mother of God and Queen of Heaven. On May 8, 2023, the eight-grade students of Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Catholic Academy joined Bishop Sanchez for a Mass and May procession and crowning. On May 10, Fr. Antonin and Deacon Thomas Jorge, director of religious education, joined the students from the Religious Ed classes to crown the Mary statue outside our church. Mary always points us toward her son, our Lord Jesus Christ! During the month of May, the statue of Mary stands with her son during Thursday devotions and Adoration.
