Several of our parishioners volunteer at two local food pantries in Forest Hills. One pantry operates weekly on Saturday mornings out of Our Lady of Mercy Church on Kessel Street. If interested in helping there, contact Deacon Dean Dobbins directly at the OLM rectory: 718-268-6143 or ddobbins@diobrook.org.
The other pantry operates monthly out of Queens Community House (108-25 62nd Drive) on the 4th Wednesday of every month. There are 2 shifts: setup is from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.; food distribution is from 6 p.m. to 7 or 8 p.m. If you are interested in volunteering at QCH’s pantry, please call our rectory and leave your name, phone number, and email and our parish coordinator will contact you to tell you more about the areas of need and the schedule. Thank you for your help.—BISHOP SANCHEZ
