COVID-19 Practices at Mass: An Update on New CDC Guidelines

(May 18, 2021)

As you may know, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) guidelines that came out on May 13, 2021, on Interim Public Health Recommendations for Fully Vaccinated People, state that masks are no longer required for those who are fully vaccinated. New York State will adopt the new CDC indoor mask and capacity rules for most business and public settings, which includes houses of worship. Unvaccinated individuals, under both CDC and state guidance, must wear masks in all public settings.

At this writing, masks remain the norm, and masks are still required when in Church until our diocese informs us otherwise.

Further updates will be posted here on our website as we all adapt to new circumstances and the easing of restrictions.
