Bishop Francis Xavier Ford (1946 – 1952) was a Brooklyn-born Maryknoll priest who was appointed bishop of Kaying in northeastern Guangdon Province in China. He engaged in person-to-person evangelization with people in the rural towns and villages. When the communists came to power in China, he was arrested, tortured and ultimately martyred for his faith in Christ.
