Starting October 19, we begin a new four-week adult bible studies program with something different: “Shakespeare’s Hamlet and the Crack-Up of a Christian Worldview.” Hamlet understands the concerns of a Christian world coming under attack and offers us ways out of madness and toward seeing the operations of God’s providence. Study sessions are free—but those attending should have their own copy of Shakespeare’s play (any edition); our instructor will have limited photocopies of important scenes for discussion.
Dates: October 19 & 26 and November 2 & 16
Time & Place: 7:30 to 9 p.m., in the rectory’s main meeting room (lower level); enter through glass doors
Moderator: Father Antonín
Instructor: Kathleen Marks, Associate Professor, St. John’s University
