The world seems in need of the power of prayer. We encourage you to observe these prayerful occasions this month.
Padre Pio Novena
Every January our parish holds a novena to St. Padre Pio (2022 dates are January 16-24). Although St. Padre Pio’s feast day is September 23, he is sometimes known as the unofficial patron saint of the January blues. Padre Pio’s favorite prayer petition was to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. In his famous words, “Pray, hope, and don’t worry. Worry is useless. God is merciful and will hear your prayer.”
Week of Prayer for Christian Unity
January 18-25, 2022: This initiative was started by friars in Upstate New York and is now celebrated by Christians in all corners of the globe.
Suggested Prayers for Christian Unity
