Deacon Greg in Rome: May 27-29
Deacon Greg Kandra was invited by the Vatican to be one of the speakers to the English-speaking deacons during the Jubilee for Deacons in the Year of Mercy. On Friday, May 27, 2016, he delivered a talk on The Deacon as Image of Mercy in the Workplace at the Basilica of Santa Maria sopra Minerva in Rome. Then on Sunday, he joined over 3,000 deacons and their wives for Mass celebrated in St. Peter’s Square by Pope Francis. Greg and his wife Siobhan were among a small group invited to meet the Holy Father after Mass. According to Deacon Greg, “It was truly the trip of a lifetime.”
