Father Charles Keeney, a retired diocesan priest, will preach at all Sunday Masses on August 22/23 to tell us about his mission cause: the Sisters of St. Gemma Galgani, who feed, clothe, and educate orphans and children in great need in Tanzania.
Father Keeney has served the Diocese of Brooklyn and Queens as a pastor in several parishes and as a high school and university chaplain. He is the former director for the diocesan mission office for the Propagation of the Faith, with a lifelong commitment to the missionary work of the Church in the poorest regions of America and other parts of the world. He has been working with this particular mission in Africa for the past 19 years.
