The Christmas Giving Tree will be set up in the church the Sunday before Thanksgiving! Please support this annual and beloved parish tradition.
Take a tag from the Christmas tree: November 19/20
Gift collection weekends: November 26/27, December 3/4 & December 10/11We want to collect as many gifts as possible for boys and girls and teens in time for Catholic Charities of Brooklyn and Queens to distribute them for Christmas. Please give a thoughtful, age-appropriate gift that is purchased new (no hand-me-downs, no partially used gift cards) and that will make someone’s Christmas brighter. Read instructions
Participating in the Giving Tree project is as easy as 1-2-3:
- Take a colorful gift tag from the Christmas tree at the Saint Joseph Altar. The tags will indicate a boy or girl and their age. Tags will be hanging until all are taken. If no tags are left on the tree, you can still participate by taking the next steps.
- Purchase a brand-new, age-appropriate gift for a boy or girl. TIP: For teens ages 13-18, consider new gift cards to let them purchase what they need.
- Return UNWRAPPED gifts over the next three weekends and leave them under the tree. When returning gifts, attach the original tag. If you do not have a tag, attach a label marked Giving Tree Gift. Please do not leave gifts in the church vestibule. If the church is closed, you may drop off gifts at the rectory no later than December 12. Gift cards can be put in an envelope marked Giving Tree Gift and left in the rectory mailbox.
