MASS READINGS FOR THE WEEK

Always available here from the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB).

ADULT BIBLE STUDIES AT OLQM

Our parish offerings may include Monday evening Bible Studies or Catholic Adult Education sessions at various times and on occasion. In the fall of 2016, we began season one of the Arise Together in Christ spiritual renewal program.

BEREAVEMENT SUPPORT IS AVAILABLE

Meetings are generally every first and third Monday of the month at 7 p.m. in our rectory. If attending a group meeting for the first time, please call the OLQM rectory at 718-268-6251 to register. All meetings are facilitated by Commissioned Lay Pastoral Leader, Yorke Mizelle. Read the group’s page for the meeting schedule and updates.

SINGLE ADULTS GROUP: PLANNED ACTIVITIES

The parish group publishes a monthly Calendar of Events available for download on the group’s page here. Or call the group’s hotline (718-361-3201) for information about upcoming events and to sign up. Newcomers are welcome.

ANGEL LAYETTES

Babies born to pro-life mothers are always in need of clothing. Our rectory accepts donations of new layette items, sized newborn to nine months (booties, sweaters, hats, undershirts, blankets and other baby essentials), on behalf of the Bridge to Life. Please bring donations to our parish rectory or call Ann (718-261-9841) or Kay (718-268-1375).

FOOD PANTRY VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

We can connect you to two local food pantries in Forest Hills. One pantry operates weekly on Saturday mornings out of Our Lady of Mercy Church on Kessel Street. If interested in helping there, contact Deacon Dean Dobbins directly at the OLM rectory: 718-268-6143 or ddobbins@diobrook.org. The other pantry operates monthly out of Queens Community House (108-25 62nd Drive) on the 4th Wednesday of every month. There are 2 shifts: setup is from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.; food distribution is from 6 p.m. to 7 or 8 p.m. If you are interested in volunteering at QCH’s pantry, please call our rectory and leave your name, phone number, and email and our parish coordinator will contact you to tell you more about the areas of need and the schedule.

CATHOLIC CHARITIES AUTO DONOR PROGRAM GIVES BACK

Catholic Charities will give back $50/$100 to our parish for each donated car, truck or van (any condition, running or not). If you or someone you know—family member, friend or neighbor—have an old or neglected vehicle to dispose of, please call 718-491-2525. It’s an ongoing program, year-round, with free towing available. Thank you for your participation.
