Music

“Those who sing, pray twice.” — Saint Augustine

The choir experience is a wonderful way to participate in the life of the parish by lifting your voice in praise of our Lord, in the company of fellow parishioners who have dedicated themselves to the enhancement of our liturgy through sacred song. The choir of Our Lady Queen of Martyrs sings inspiring choral music at the 11:15AM Mass every Sunday and at the major liturgies of the year. Weekly rehearsals are on Tuesdays at 7:30PM in the church choir loft. Specific roles for ministers of music include the leader of song and choir singers.

In addition, the yearly concert featuring Advent and Christmas music takes place in December, brought to you by the Sacred Music Society of Our Lady Queen of Martyrs — under the direction of David Close and with our choir, soloists, and the Oratorio Society of Queens.

Attention Singers! New Choir Members Are Welcome

If you’d like to join the choir, contact Music Director David Close. You’ll find David in the church choir loft on Tuesdays at 7:30PM preparing for rehearsal. Come and introduce yourself or, better, talk to him beforehand. You can leave him a message at the rectory at 718-268-6251.
